I have a NH 320 square baler that has been a pretty good baler for me. We were using it the other day and about to finish up and started having tying problems. Dug out the knotters from all the hay and dust aka chaff and found a spring. Looks like one coming from the tucker fingers going to the knotters. So my question is the parts diagram I found shows and calls out only one spring. I have two one on each side on my tucker fingers going to knotters. Same spring just don't know why 2? It must make a difference? Any thoughts?

Thanks Matt

I have an older NH baler but tying mechanism is pretty similar. Mine has one spring on turkcer fingers but there was a spot on mine that looked like it should have a spring also. I put one on but it fell off sometime along the way. Didn't seem to make any difference if I had one or 2 springs.

One spring is used. Many balers have two, but one does the job. The twine finger shaft arms are all punched for a spring hole at the factory so they don’t have to separate the arms right and left for assembly.
