Woods,LandPride, Bush Hog, Rhino? Are they all about the same? Looking for a 6' #1000 lb. machine with slip clutch. Got 70 hp to spin it. Any opinions?

Been a good mower . 60 hp. Not as good as my old Ford but better than the Bush Hog I had.

I have a Bush Hog brand 307 made in the late '70's that I wouldn't take three times what I paid for it. I would not say the same about the newer Bush Hogs. The heavier made ones are gonna cost more than the lightweights. 70 horses is a lot of power for a mere 6 footer, depending on what you're cutting of course. I've seen a lot of Titan mowers advertised lately, they look heavy duty.

Depending on which 70 hp tractor you have I would look at a 7 or 8 ft bushhog. You want pull type or 3 point? Back in the 1960's I bet there were a dozen Brillion 6 ft pull type rotary in our neighborhood. Must have been really cheap, and fairly reliable. Though Dad did find out the gearbox wouldn't handle a full load of 3+ft tall grass at 5 mph with 90-95 hp. He broke more stuff in 2-3 days than I broke in 3 years of chopping stalks, mowing hay, clipping hog pasture. I ran that mower with a 33 hp Super H, 3rd gear, 5 mph was just the right speed.

Anybody have experience with Titan? They spec out pretty close to everybody else but seem to have a good price advantage.
The dealer quoted me $2225 for a #1506, which is a 6', 900# machine with slip clutch.
I know I could run another foot or two width with 70 horse, but after borrowing my neighbor's 6 foot, I appreciate the nimbleness of it. Had a Woods 7-ft on a MF 275 which certainly did the job, but in retrospect, it seemed big as a barge.
