There is a two row planter for sale locally that I am looking at to possibly
buy. I am not sure what make it is though, and have never used one of these
planters. Wondering if someone here might know more about the planter. The
price is $250.00. Thanks!

Looks like an old IH.Cant see enough to tell the model number. Pretty sure it's not a 185. It would use 'C' series plates.IMHO,250 is too much.Worth about half that.

Need more and better pictures. Looks like the tub from a wheelbarrow on someting in front of planter.

Dont forget the plates. IF it dosnt have plates for what you want to plant its nearly useless, and plates, IF you can find them are expensive nowadays. AND, like the above said, It isnt worth 1/2 that

Lincoln Ag products,Evergreen,CO is the place to go for plates. Last I bought(last year) were 32 dollars each.

All we can really see is the welded home made frame, would need to see the drive mech and the closing wheels and such of the actual planting units to easily identify.

Thanks for all of the comments. When I looked at it yesterday, I saw that it did have what was left of a factory sticker of some kind on it, and I could make out an "a" and and "l" at the end of the sticker. The owner said it has been sitting out for over 10 years, and that before then he used it to plant corn and beans. He said it worked great the last time he used it. I did think the price was a bit high since it has been sitting outside for so long. I will try to go back and get more photos tonight, if he has not sold it.

IF he WOULD DROP his price to one fifth of what he is asking he MIGHT find a buyer but not likely.

He said he did not know what it was worth but figured that it was worth at least what he is asking. So far it's still for sale.

The only way he will get that money out of a piece of junk is if he finds somebody that doesn't know anything about planters. Like other poster said 3.5 cents per pound and that might just be way high now. Have heard some scrap yards are closed due to things now.
