Gas leak

The sediment bulb is seeping around the threads. Anyone know a good compound or something to use. I tried Teflon tape, guess that is only good for air and water!

I use Teflon all the time, what I like best about it is if the base can't be tightened enough in the right spot, I just put a few more wraps of it and it tightens where it needs to be. Tank could also be leaking around the base where it is soldered to the tank.
