I brought a place in the sw Virginia mountains and have traced the farm back to early 1800 s. I found a plow as noted above with the numbers 464-604 1464. Ive read background on the company but wondering what would be value? I ve got a farm supply company checking on new handles for it and plan to exhibit in my yard, was covered with over hundred year old chestnut posts.

Here is a image of a page from a 1900 Farm Implements catalog by Syracuse Chilled Plow Company regarding a Syracuse Chilled Plow Co. No. 464 steel beam plow.
No idea of value but this might help you date it.

It's not worth much. I bought a Syracuse hillside at a yard sale a few years back for $40. A hillside is one that you can change from plowing to the left or right by kicking a latch on the back of it and rolling the bottom over.

Syracuse used the patented Oliver Chilled Plow process without permission. Deere bought the company so they'd have a plow to sell when old John Deere ran out of broken saw blade to bend in to plows.

Look up Farmer Browns Plow Shop. They probably have handles. Value is little to nothing beyond the city person finding it a "cool" piece of yard art.

I guess I'm lucky I live where I do. There's a guy who goes to the flea markets with a whole trailer load of handles of every kind, including plow and cultivator handles. I have an extra pair out in the barn.
