I purchased a sears roebuck running gear serial number 667. the wagon gear has 16 inch spoke wheels, tapper roller bearings, the rim is part of the hub assembly and it has PERU stamped in the screw on hub cover. about what year would it be? It appeared to be painted red on the wheels and green on the frame is this correct?

What you need to answer is are the wheels factor rubber or are they wheels that had the rims welded to the dpokes after a steel rin was cut off. And color varies acording to model and year. Had a Sears on 16" 5 lig wheels Dad bought new in 1946 and wheels were yellow with frame red. Most were green wheels with red frame. Also need to know type of steering, auto guide or like the old wood wheel wagond. I has a sears with the old non auto guide steering that the wheels were cut down steel to rubber but it had straight roller bearings and not tapered bearings so I am guessing yours would be from about 1938 to 1944 As I am guessing yours the wheels have been converted from steel rims to rubber rims. And rubber for wagon tires was not avaiblr from 1942 to 1945 due to WW2.

The Sears Econemy tractor built about 37-38 did have green with red wheels but the Grahm Bradley also sold in 38 by Sears was red tractor., Don't remember wheel color. So different items sold my Sears at same time were painted different. So could or not be correct colors on your wagon. So cut off wheels say repaint possibly by who ever did conversion and just used what they had.
