IH or other brands of 1 row horse drawn corn/ cotton planter

Here is one that I have. It came out of MS and now resides in IL.

Decals look wrong. Everything from the horse drawn era should have overlapping I-H-C and McCormick-Deering on it. Probably the guys over on Red Power would know exactly what should be on there.

My dad had a 5 shovel that was IHC, and it was painted blue with yellowish/goldish handles. It was kept in the barn and apparently seldom used. The paint is original as I first saw it in the mid 50s. It was never used, and likely still sets there in the barn that my brother now has.

Hello NY 986, That is why I asked WesnIl if he purchased the planter the way it is painted.....This planter was still being made at the IH plant in Mexico in 1975 and this is how they decaled due to the fact that IHC and McCormick Deering decals had been dropped by then.......How they got to the US is that people from US went to Mexico on vacation an seen these and purchased and brought it back to the states..

I restored it as close to purchased as possible. Too bad I did not take pictures of it as purchased so one could compare the 'before' and 'after'. One can get an idea of the original condition by viewing the paint on the attached picture. There are plenty pictures of the 'during'. The decals were re-produced by a local sign man using the old as patterns if you will. The metal serial number tag says made in Mexico. There is one listed on eBay now.
