I have an old ford Dearborn 22-47 and have a bad blade shaft oil seal. I ordered one from messick but it did not work. Can someone tell me how to find the specific part and #. Thanks alot

Any decent auto parts store or "bearings and drives" sort of industrial supply should be able to find you a seal by dimensions.

Also, below is a link so you can do it yourself!

I think the seal you need is number 25 in the picture. Be sure to read the note "B" at the bottom though.

Changing seals on any rotary cutter is a very tough job. Usually they get converted to run 00 grease instead of oil.

Replacing the seal on these old Ford mowers is pretty easy. I just did one last Summer.

The blade carrier comes off very easily, knock a hole in the old seal and pry it out. Drive in new seal, fill with oil.

Half hour job.
