Drilling Question

Going to plant some KY-32 (non Endophyte) Fescue with a JD (double coulter) Drill. Seed selector chart and feeder gauges clearly visible and working. Any
gotchas? Thanks

As long as it?s not a light fluffy seed it?ll drill find otherwise you might have to use cracked corn to make it feed . If the seed isn?t on the chart you?ll want to get a seeder meter to calibrate the drill

Thank you sir on the cracked corn comment. I feel more comfortable running a wider gate opening and having a "filler" than to use a narrow opening and just raw seed. I was wondering what would be a good filler and you just nailed it for me.

fescue seed will go through the grain box. you will have to weigh it . then drill a little and check your acreage and figure out your setting. you can get it right that way.

This make your life so easy if your drilling a lot of seed that isn?t on the chart . You just pick your drill opener spacing then measure the distance if calls for on the chart attach the bag that comes with it to the seed tube drive the distance weigh the seed and it tells you how many pounds per acre your drilling
Drill calibration scale
