IH 800 Plate Planter

Just purchased a 4 row IH 800 Plate planter...it has the bracket and all of the lines for a liquid fertilizer tank, however the tank is missing.

It does have the dry fertilizer bins, am planning on using the planter to plant sweet corn and pumpkins next year.

My question is, is the liquid fertilizer tank required for the regular operation of the openers/closers?

Where can I find a replacement tank for this planter?

I find the timing of this thread very interesting. I am thinking about buying an 800 for planting sunflowers and pumpkins. Figured maybe I should get started before the
end of the year so I can think about lining up plates for it.

cool! I have only started farming last year. Trying to rotate my fields so that I can plant new hay fields

There is two IH 80 planters. The IH 800 Cyclo, and IH 800 plate planters. I know there can be issues with the drums not sealing properly on the cyclo, and having issues with the air.

The plates for the 800 plate planter are compatible with the IH 900 plate planter as well.

You have dry bins and plumbing for liquid? If the dry setup is all there and it has dry fertilizer openers you are in business. The liquid
opener will have a smaller tube and doesn't work with dry fertilizer. if your planter was set up for dry fertilizer beside the row with
liquid popup fertilizer in the seed trench you have the Cadillac of systems. Get a manual to really see what you have. Any IH plates back to
horsedrawn planters should fit your 800.

Picked up the planter today, and downloaded the manuals...turns out the drive chains are missing, and possibly the seed monitors, however the monitor itself came with the planter!
