NH 478 Haybine Top Roller Chain Adjustment

Hello everyone, our NH 478 haybine recently broke its top roller chain. We decided that the quickest fix is to go to ace hardware and buy a size 40 chain (same size as the OEM chain). But when we cut it down to size and put it onto the machine, it was way to long. So we took off a link, and reinstalled it to the machine, and it was 1/2 a link short... I tried to adjust the roller height to see if the chain would tighten or loosen so i could get the 2 end to meet. No luck. Then, I tried to remove the shims that are under the adjuster for the roller, and i loosened it until it bottomed out. No luck either. The original part on New Holland's parts store says it has 94 pitches. Is that the same meaning as links? I tried flipping through the manual and the only adjustment for the chain was for the other side. Is there another place to adjust the chain? The pictures below will explain more clearly my problem.

Thank You,
EngineGeek21

Oops:
I should have investigated before replying. It appears shaft that sheave/sprocket turns on is an eccentric that needs to be turned plus have considered shortening or replacing the chain?
