Was looking to purchase a JD335 for around $4k for 50 rounds a year to supplement squares and was wondering what kind of pto hp I needed? I have a jd 2555 and ford 5600 as a backup for it to bale, would they be enough? How is the 335 anyway as the only round bales I've ever done a buddy of mine did for me when I ran out of space in the barn for the idiot cubes:) thanks in advance, jeff

Either one of your tractors should handle a JD 335 rd baler with ease. 335 has no bale monitor therefore one must look back or utilize rear view mirror to determine bale levelness. Depending on baler age twine wrapping could be manually operated hyd or electric controlled twine tubes.

I had a brand new 335 and most often baled with a Deere 3020 and often my 2510 (54hp). Dad ran it often with his three cylinder 2040. You will have plenty of power. They are a very good baler. We only sold ours because we wanted net wrap and the mega wide pickup. Tom
