I have a John Deere 466 Baylor that only has twine and I would like to add net. Does anyone know of a kit that I can add to it to get the net

I agree with Roger on acquiring a netwrap unit from salvage yard or trade your baler for one with netwrap already on it. What type pickup does your 466 have(regular, mega or wide)? I ordered & installed a netwrap attachment many yrs back on a 435 That I owned. Not too bad a task to install.

It s a wide pick up. I m new to the farming family so I don t know where salvage places are yet. I m in Ottawa ontario area. If you know of any pls share. Thank you.

How many total bales are on your balers monitor? How long have you owned it? The reason I asked these questions is I purchased a new 466 with wide pickup in '98 that was the worse JD rd baler I ever owned. After baling about 10000 rd bales in sandy type soil the feeder crankshaft go so worn that I couldn't keep the feeder fingers on because of fingers hitting pickup frame then breaking finger mounting bolts. If I put the plastic brg half inserts on a belt sander so when halves were placed together the inside circumference was a little smaller I could get a few more bales without feeder fingers falling off in field. I traded the 466 for a 467 Mega-wide PU & couldn't believe the improvement. I'm now baling with my 2nd 467 with a total of 57000 bales made on both 467's. I have since wondered if the Mega-wide PU from a 467 could be mounted on a 466.

You will find it cost prohibitive to add mesh wrap to an older round baler. You need a complete unit from a donor baler. It is easier and 90% of the time cheaper in the long run to just trade for a baler with mesh wrap.
