Hi guys, I have a broken inner spring on my 1600 haybine. I have removed the spring no problem. Deere parts has told me the 4 pieces (inner, outer, end cap, and bolt) are all seperate parts. Just the inner spring is broken. it is loose and begins to thread out but jams on the end of the other spring. Looks like i need to thread the end cap out of the outer spring, and then replace the inner spring, but i cannot for the life of me get it to budge.
Was told by an old timer that i need to put tension back onto the spring in order to thread out the end piece. Just wondering if anyone knows of the specific tool or another method of how to do this.
