Anyone happen to have a manual for a Kuhn gf4 tedder? Just go our simi running. Ended up making tires for the tedder and we re not sure about adjustments.

One of the rims.

I don't have a manual but I have had a GF for for a long time. There are 2-3 different tines for them. In order for it to work properly the need to all be the same height from the ground as they turn. I will take some pics later today of how the tines attach when I get out to where I have it right now.

Here are some pics.

First is the whole machine; second a close up of the tine mount; from top to bottom: nut, arm, special spacer, tine, special heavy washer.

The third pic shows top and bottom view of the special cast iron spacer. I keep at least one new one on hand, you can see the groove that clamps onto the tine to hold it tight.

You will want to replace those wheel bearings with sealed ones. try to get bearings with real rubber seals as opposed to the plastic coated tinfoil ones. I get mine at the local bearing store where they are 1/4 what you would pay at an equipment dealer. Just be aware that for each wheel you will need two different IDs because of the step on the shaft. I keep a replacement tire/wheel assembly ready to go.

As soon as I get my antique car done I will be finishing my restored tedder. I have the center part and one end rebuilt with all new bearings and seals and repainted with epoxy primer and urethane paint with hardener. I will need to clean and paint one end and two discs and some arms and put it together.
