I?m thinking of making one with my floating ring packers but I think I?d put the packer in the rear and the tines in the front

I think that those baskets that mount at an angle appear to do very well. They give you a combination of crushing, cutting and shearing action to break the clods.

(quoted from post at 09:17:28 05/26/19) There are some with packer wheels front and rear. Google "cultipacker". This site won't let me paste a picture.

That would be a cultimulcher.

I can see it leaving clods in certain conditions that?s why I?d like the teeth In the front packer in the back . I don?t Know if I have enough tractor to lift 20 feet of packer the tines and the frame work on the 3 point

Never seen anything quite like that. There used to be lots of roller harrows, or cultimulchers around. Not mounted, but pull type with packer wheels front and rear. I've given up on anything with teeth on it because of the trash left on top by the chisel plow. Years ago, our final fitting tool was a "drag"[spring tooth harrow] with a chain down the middle, pulling a cultipacker. That left a very nice seedbed. I recall seeing a few guys pulling the harrow behind the cultipacker. In that case, I couldn't see that the packer was doing much.

I saw one at an auction, JD 930 if I remember right. Seemed backward to me to have the roller in front, but it must work in some conditions . If you ever see one of those power harrows come up for sale, let me know. I missed one in Nampa a couple weeks ago. Need to pull it with 100 hp so can?t be much more than 10-12 feet.
