Looking for a grinder mixer to run behind a a 28 hp Kubota tractor. Have a small pig and duck farm and have been grinding 2 tons of wheat a week for a couple years With the hammer mill pulled from a busted gehl 65. The 28 horse grinds ok as long as I don t overload it. After I mix in a supplement as I feed out of a bucket.
Ready to get a used unit that will do the whole job but don t want to buy something I can t run with my tractor. Thanks in advance searching through this site has been real helpful in keeping our old machines running.

John Deere 400 could likely work if not pushing it too hard. I?ve used an M farmall before, and I could work it pretty hard, but if taking it slower, it was
fine.

A New Holland 350,351 or 352 would work great for your needs. They have an 80 bu tank and many had an optional mill disengage that stopped the intake auger if your tractor rpm dropped to far. Dad had a brand new one and once the only tractor available to use was a Farmall 200. He was grinding fresh corn that was high in moisture(grinds hard) it did it but was slow. I have two Deere 400 grinders and they are good but many parts are no longer available. Many parts interchange between the New Hollands and usually a good one can be had for $800-1500. Tom

I currently run my Artsway 325 with a 26 hp Kubota grinding dry ear corn and shelled corn when a bigger tractor is tied up.
Although I don't shovel it in too fast. I have also ran the previous JD 400 that I had with the same tractor. Wet eared corn takes
a little more hp and I try to use a bigger tractor. Both grinders are about 2 ton, the same as the smaller New Holland or Gehl
models. Ear corn is allot harder grinding than wheat is so I don't think you will have a problem running one.

thanks for replies, gives me a good idea of what to look for. Found a couple advertised with hydraulic unloading or loading auger. I don t have rear remotes but I could mount a quick connect on my front end loader valves. I think 12 gpm is max flow on mine any ideas on how much flow a small unloading auger would need? If I can get one to work on my tractor it
Seems like a few less chains shafts sprockets and belts to deal with.....
