Looking to find model of this disc. I bent the left angle iron when I was pulling it out of the trees. There is no cylinder for wheels. I would like to get a oem one with hoses. I think a couple bearings might be frozen.

I don;t know model #. The axles & carrier frame appear to be shop build not factory built. I would guess a 3X8 cylinder would work but one would needs to measurements os cyl mounts center of mounting hole to center of mounting hole.

Don?t know model number. Used one a lot back in the day. Still have one in the trees. They never had transport wheels ,you just took the cramp out and pulled down the road. Used it mostly to knock down cornstalks. Original ?vertical tillage tool?. Don?t believe there are bearings, just a split casting that fits over the spool and fill with grease.

The angle iron parts could easily be remade by a welder. A NOS/old style cylinder could probably be had from Ebay. None of these parts are going to be available from Deere. As was said,no bearings, just 'boxings',or iron bearings.Take em apart to clean and inspect. The 'truck' is homemade/shopmade. It looks prettygood, not a like a 'hatchet job'.Someone knew what they were doing.

That disk would predate any cylinder and a disk of that style never had a wheel carrier on it from factory.

For cylinder just measure for length between mounting holes in both down and up positions for length finding one that will fit to those measurements but do not get one that is too long extended as it will break everything up. And for tupe of cylinder what model tractor do you have? Set up for a double acting cylinder (all that Deere had) and low or high pressure? Single acting cylinder like a WD Allis with a high pressure system or single action like some Farmals were with low pressure system or a high pressure system like later model Deeres had. You put a low pressure like first Deeres were on a high pressure system you will bust the cylinder. I have seen both the early and mid time Deere cylinders blown out.

My brother still has the model S JD disk my dad farmed with in the 40's - 60's and it has wood bearings. It was a 21' disk and I have seen them in a 15' model also.

That is awesome. Where did you find that picture?

Guys thank you a lot! Very helpful! I?m glad I am spending the time to get it running again. It?s fun

(quoted from post at 14:42:40 05/24/19) Where can a guy find some of the same bearing housing ? I tried the number on the casting but nothing pulls up

Please post the part #. I came up with KK4408B but that might not be correct PN with my aging eyesight.

This picture came from a book published by John Deere around the time the disk was new called the operation care and repair of farm machinery
