Bush Hog Stump Jumper help

I have a 5 foot King Cutter Bush hog and i need to tighten the bolts up on the gearbox. I have taken the blades off and the nut for the stump jumper but the jumper refuses to budge. I have heated it up with a map gas bottle pretty good and hitting the jumper with a 2 pound hammer and a big chisels. Spinning the jumper 180 every time hitting it through the hole where you take the blade bolts out. The jumper has never been off. Is there a way to tighten the gearbox bolts without taking the jumper off. I have tried and looked and it doesn't seem to be. Just wondering if anyone has come across this before and what yall did to fix it. Thanks in advance

I have driven wooden wedges between the deck and the jumper.
Use as many as two or more evenly spaced. When you got them drove in tight. then smack shaft with a hammer on a piece of oak or hard plastic.
If it loosens but doesn't come all way off. Just add more wedges.
Good Luck.

Thanks thats a good idea. Im sure over time those brush hogs take a beating.I figure because of that maybe that spline shaft actually twist a little bit causing this and rust of corse.

I had the same problem. I flipped the cutter over, ran a chain through the bolt holes for blades, put a hydraulic jack on shaft and chain over jack. Jacked it tight and put heat on jumper. She finally popped loose.

For the hydraulic jack....use a piece of pipe that will fit over jack shaft, weld a plate cap on one end, weld two chain hooks on opposite sides.
Or just weld something to keep chain from sliding off on the jack shaft head.
