Twine for NI 484

Just checking, but is 16,000 twine the correct weight for use in a New Idea 484 round baler? I've got the OM and no where in it
does it mention the twine weight to use. Nor is it listed in any stickers on the baler itself. Thanks.

I bought a 484 new back in the early 80's, one of the first in our County. We custom baled 6K-8K bales a year for years with it and primarily used the thinnest sisal twine available at the time, if I remember correctly it was 16,000 or 18,000. We also stocked the poly for customers that preferred it, and occasionally had someone request 10,000 ft sisal. Kept the knives sharp and never had any problem with any of it. I would say try different ones and use what best fits your operation and/or pocketbook.
