Logically thinking the spiked closing wheels on planter should do a better job and I'm just about ready to pull the plug and put them on my 12 row Kinze but I can't help wonder if they are better how come the manufacture don't put them on. Kinze, JD. White. Case. All major co. sell new planters with the smooth. The after market manufactures claim 5 to 15% more yield. I would spend the $1300 if I new I could get that kind of return. What's your opinion?

A few years ago my new Kinze came with spiked closing wheels. Changed them to smooth after the first day. To each his own tho. Good luck...

when I assemble planters few years back only put on one unit. he was strictly notill all time and like to plant when wet. I personally would keep what got. attachments are only work for the seller what I learned when doing that. spiked wheels, seed firmers ,cast wheels etc. most were taken back off few years later. now days you hardly even hear about seed firmer. set planter up like it is suppose be set and plant. this means level the unit, air pressure correct in tires, etc.
