Front mount mowers

Just curious if anyone here has used a brush hog type mower on a tractor front end loader attachment. I recently purchased a tractor with the hyd. fittings to use on my loader and would like to mow under trees and such in some pastures, around pond banks, etc. Just curious if it is worth the money to buy one. Thanks for any help or comments, YT'ers never fail to help a person out

Skid steer units my just use, but the units my not have hydraulic on your louder.

The hydraulic fittings on your loader are for running hydraulic cylinders not a hydraulic rotary cutter. AN example is a grapple bucket. You would have way to little of hydraulic flow to run a rotary cutter.

I'll be the 3rd to tell you the hyd on the tractor probably aren't enough. 10 gpm is about it for older tractors. You'd have to look at the specs for the mower you have in mind. The side boom mower I run at work uses 1" hose and a big crankshaft mounted pump to run a 5' deck.

I thought the same thing. You would have to install a auxiliary pump with huge output. Keep in mind that a skid steer is just a huge hydraulic pump, would probably be cheaper/easier to just buy a used skid steer.
