Keaton Seed Firmers for soybeans

I put Keaton Seed Firmers on my corn planter last year and feel like I had a better stand of corn. Was thinking of putting them on my soybean planter. Just wondered if people had positive results with the firmers on soybeans. Seems to me if I could push the bean down slightly into the disk opener groove that it wouldn't take much pressure on the closing wheels to complete the job. Thanks for any input.

I used the same planter for both corn and beans with seed firmers and liked them. Watch closing wheel pressure. Are you in notill or worked ground? What closing wheels do you use? On the corn planter we run one cast and one spike wheel. It worked good for beans but as we plant beans a little shallower the finger wheels would once in a while kick a bean or two out on top the ground. On the 7000 we set up for beans we run 2 wheels that are metal rod and the firming part is L shaped. Not sure of the correct name because we bought them at a sale. We also added firmers to the 7000. Sometimes I will get a little soil buildup on the firmer but that means it is to wet to be planting anyway. Tom

I put rebounders on my planter that plants both corn and beans. Would I do it again? Probably not.

But it seems everyone's situation is just a little different than your own.

I put them on my planter few years ago. I use same 30" planter for corn and beans. Went out to plant corn first. After about 2 hours I went home, took them off and threw them in the corner. They do not work in this black gumbo ground of So. Mn.

They are not real popular locally, smears and drags seed in the wet clays we have.
