Bought a plow

Just picked up a Ford series 110 2 bottom moldboard plow. Guy said he?d had it 30-35 years and it looks to be in fair shape with both colters and a ?flat? steel wheel, on what appears to be a colter type shaft, which (I think) attaches to the rear someplace. No furrow wheel but the rear landslide is longer than the front. I have located owners and parts manuals so I should get a bit more informed when they get here. I plan on using this behind my MF35 to turn approx 5 acres.....that has not seen any cultivation in many many years......in preparation for planting honey bee friendly perrineals. Anything special I should know about this critter?

Shoup parts has some wear parts for ford plows , shares moldboards landsides as for other parts maybe cnh

I?m thinking that?s an economy bottom plow which makes getting wear parts a little easier. I found some NOS shares on eBay for one of my ford plows and some other wear parts on agrisupply? website. Don?t know much about the 110, heck I thought that was a single bottom plow. Just don?t see them in my neck of the woods.

Gauge wheel is used in case the tractor does not have draft control, or if the draft control is not working. It rides on the land, keeps the depth consistent.

You can get Shares, Shins and Landsides from Temco as well, that is where I got mine. I was able to get rock shares for mine, they seem to be a little thicker, probably wear longer.

This I believe is an economy plow, not sure who made these for Ford. I have 2 of them, both single bottom, with gauge wheels and coulters and all options. Yours should have a tag on it with the model and options. I would want the coulters for that sod ground. Set at the proper depth, it will help in sod bound soil that has not seen any tillage in years.

This plow when properly adjusted to my tractor, good wear parts like I mentioned below, does an excellent job and was a very easy pulling plow. One is a 16" plow, the other smaller, might be less than a 14", bought it NOS as the previous owner found that he had shallow top soil over ledge rock, and the plow would be useless. I've never used that one, but the 16" I have.

These are shear bolt protected, use grade 2 bolts only. Properly adjusted, even in rocky soil, it won't shear bolts, but hit roots and such, will shear every time. Keep a tool on the tractor to align the holes when it does, and to push out the stub. I think I have a parts or assembly manual, it shows the optional 2nd bottom.
