Hydraulic cylinder with funny SAE 6 female connectors

The cylinder must be a high pressure type I bought at a surplus store....it's 2 x 24 with a 16" ram, rated 9k#+at 3kpsig. The hyd. input and output ports are SAE 6 but the threads are about half an inch down inside the fitting requiring a deep skirted male SAE 6 to get to it.

Anybody ever see/use one of these and know where the adapters to ⅜" NPT hoses could be purchased.

Thanks,
Mark

Are they designed for "banjo fittings" using hollow bolts??

In any case, if they are, in fact 9/16"-18 thread it would not be too tough to make adapters on the lathe from hex stock to whatever you want to connect to them.

Thanks for the replies.

I got out my calipers and did some measuring and I have to go to town today anyway. The hole is within limits of a tap hole dimension for a: Will swing by a farm store and pick up a ⅜-18 NPT tap and a couple of ⅜ 90 NPT male - swivel female adapters. Pack grease in the bottom of the hole, tap it, clean out the grease and be on my way. Pressure-work function isn't much as all it will do is lift the outer end of my 6' drum mower to vertical, about 500# maybe....a no brainer for a 9k# rated cylinder so my modification shouldn't present any problems.

"Are you sure it isn't 3/8-18 NPS?? " No. Will have to www that and see what you are talking about. As is currently, I was in town and got the tap and the ⅜ NPT adapters, cut the threads, installed the adaptors and good to go.
