Going through my new to me baler. The
pump for hydraulic tension drips oil.
I see they sell a kit to reseal it.
Anything special to look for or is it
more trouble then it's worth to seal
it? Doesn't drip much but you can see
it. Thanks.

At the reservoir to pump body? I've resealed a few times as have others, can't get it to stop for long. I think the o-ring spec isn't right. There's a retrofit kit for the MF/agco labelled ones to fit the new horizontal style reservoir and pump. Too much money for me, I'm planing to cut out a gasket from a sheet of garlock material next time its dripping on the shop floor.

The new style pump that solves the leak I'm told:

I didn't think about the reservoir to pump leaking. I will clean it up and see if it is that. I just assumed the pump was bad.

The other leak spot is if the drive chain is too tight the seal at the shaft leaks. People snug that chain up way too tight, the pump is very low load, chain should be droopy.
