Winco generator

I have a Winco generator model 20 PTO f 8/c THAT WON'T GENERATE. I'VE CHECKED THE FUSES & THEY ARE OK. ANY IDEA WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG? Thanks

i have a portable winco with a gas engine mine quit working. i found that the capacitor went bad. put in a new one and worked right away

With the generator running, plug in a corded drill, squeeze the trigger and then spin the chuck, it should generate enough current to excite the generator if it's in usable condition. Read about it on here and it worked for me, I bought a generator that had been sitting a long time.

Sounds like a similar problem that I had on my Katolight PTO Generator. I reviewed the electrical schematics as well as spoke with the manufacture and used a battery charger to supply DC voltage to excite the fields as the unit was running at proper RPM's. With the battery charger hooked up I had AC power coming out of the generator. If switched it from 6VDC to 12VDC to output AC power changed accordingly. This proved that the voltage regulator was defective. $169.00 later it was fixed.
