IHC disk blades

Need to replace disk blades on IHC disk. Not sure if it is model 35 or 37. Anyone know what disk sizes are on new blades, what
size the arbor is, whether they were the same on both models? How about repective sizes on model 350 and 370? Thanks.

Probably 18 or 20" Measure from the axle to the frame to see how much clearance you have.Take off a gang nut and look at the gang bolt.I don't remember if the bolt is round,or square.1,or 1 1/8....A visual is required.Measure if needed. You're going to have to tear it apart to fix it anyway.... I'm pretty sure the gang bolt is the same on both. Measure the nut. You may end up destroying the nut removeing it.Even if not, never hurts to have an extra.

I have three IH 37's wheel disc's. Two 10'9" and one 14'. They have 1 1/8" square axels. The two 10'9" had 18" blades originally and the 14' one had 20" blades. I worked on two of them this past spring and used 9 gauge blades I brought from Sloan Express out of Assumption IL. I know IH earth metal? blades are better but not in my budget for the amount of acres these discs see. They are the India made ones, stay away from Chinese made blades. My blades holes were sized for two different axles but I got the ones so the 1 1/8" size used the full square hole and not the little notches 90 degrees off. I played around with my shopping cart and split what I needed over two orders to minimize shipping. If I ordered it all at once the shipping jump dramitcally to regular freight. I also needed some new half spools one one, got them from Shoup. The replacements were slightly longer than the originals but the existing axles had enough extra length to make it work. The axle bolts use the bend over tabs to keep them from working loose. Might want to buy new tabs for putting them back together. I had no issues getting them off. I had a new HF 800 ft-lb impact wrench and it worked wonders for taking apart and putting the gangs back together. I also put new one piece bearings (ST491?) in anywhere I took thok the whole gang apart and put in new blades. Mike

As Wayne said above get your blades from your local CIH dealer. Will last many acres and will provide superior service compared to "will fit" blades.

ASC has just about any blade you could ask for made in Brazil or India....used both and no functional difference I could tell. Will freight to a depot nearby on a pallet, or depending on your address, may freight to your place if you have unloading capabilities.

I looked very hard at ASC as the blade prices were less but when adding frieght they were more. ASC in the southeast was much farther and expensive to ship to MO than from IL from Sloan which is one the reason Sloan was cheaper for me. Also, Sloan has fixed UPS shipping rates based on the amount ordered along with weight so I just played with my cart and figured how many blades I could get in one shipment for the fixed price before the weight kicked up to truck freight and then split my blade purchaes across multiple orders. The net cost per blade was about a couple bucks less than ASC? Again, based on location ASC might be a better deal. If you could walk in to one of their locations, even better. One warning there though - in MO all you do is sign a form at a retailer to get farm sales tax exemption. I went into a ASC store in a GA a couple years ago on my way baack from FL and could not get it as you have to register with the state and have a card to get the tax exemption. No sales tax though for ASC if you buy online from out of state. I did buy a a couple of smaller 14" blades from ASC to go on the furrow filler extensions on the back gang of one of my IH37's. Sloan did not carry the smaller sizes.

Several years ago when I was checking on blades I did not find it what I thought was bad. Ended up not doing the disks as taking 3 fence line disks of different sizes and cutting them all down to 7 blade on a side Just between me and the dealer decided it was too much work for putting them up for resale. And Shoupe did not list a proper size for those disks. Would have needed 89 blades if math is correct. but they did not have enough of the size I would have needed at all locations together.
