145 front end loader

hello, have a 145 that leaks down and will only lift a few hundred lbs, There is a leak at the controller but where should I start repairing it. Need it to lift its limit 1300-1400 lbs 0f hay

does the clutch and the lift work off of the same reservoir?

If you're referring to the JD 2240 you purchased earlier the hyd system has nothing to do with the traction clutch. If tractor has hyd reverser or hyd hi-lo then yes hyd system is associated with them. 1st thing I'd suggest to do is check tractor hyd stand-by pressure which should be 2250-2350 psi. Does loader control valve have a built in relief valve? If so i needs to be adjusted completely closed.

Jim, where is the fluid added and checked for the 145

Hyd oil dipstick is located on RH side of trans case close to right heel when operator is seated on tractor. Hyd filler hole is located behind sea. Check hyd oi level with engine running at idle rpm's.
