My old backup manure spreader has been sitting for a year. Yesterday I decided to give it a cleanup and test. Beaters work, but the Floor chain has stopped moving.
I took the shield off and found that the springs had broken that hold the pawl against the big gear. I have never looked under the shield before and don't really understand how this mechanism works. Does anyone know where to find an explanation of the drive mechanism? Since it has stopped, I can not scope out the problem. It has a big gear and an arm coming out of the gear box. Has anyone seen a video of this mechanism in action?
