Anybody interested in my Deere-Dain hay rake, from late 20's or early 30's or my 450 Deere corn planter that is first model of 4 row planter Deere built starting I think in 1937 to 1942. I am getting ready to move into appartment in town and can no longer keep things amd I don't want to have to send for scrap as they are too scarce a part of history to want to do that with. Both easily made to work. I an in northwest Ohio. email opened. Just made arangement for my 2 different models of my Deere 116 balers to go, I don't mind them going as much as I hate to see the rake or planter go. Friend got my 902 Deere wagon a month ago that I picked out of scrap yard 20+ years ago and has it looking like new. In my 75 years I have seen several of the balers but only one other of the wagon, one of the planter and no other rakes so they are scarce. You know if I have to send for scrap I will not get much out of them so not asking a big price. Just more to get them saved.

I?d sure like to take. Trip out there and see a bunch of things but it?ll be a few years before I can pull that off

Just got back on line after being off for a while to move. The machinery is a Wapakoneta, Ohio Have not got my email up working again yet. The move is why I need to get rid of them.

That's a bit of a drive but I could use a 4 row planter instead of the 2 row salvage one I'm using. Will it fit in the back of a pick up truck?

Long way from that it is a 4 row wide planter that is about 15' wide. But it is what should be in a colection as a show piece as they were the first 4 row planter Deere ever tried to make and is unique in design and was first made I think for the Deere G tractor when they came out in 1937 and built untill 42 when the 290 & 490 models that most know of came on the market. Ituses some of the same parts that the GP standard tread tractor used with the 3 row mounted planter. In my 75 years on the farm it is only the second one I have ever seen and the other one years ago was highly modified. This planter is on steel wheels to carry the frame. Verry rare scarce and should be put on display.

There's a park near here that has a classic farm on it with equipment from 1900-1950. I'll talk to them. It doesn't sound like I'll be able to get it but they have trailers. I'll check with them.

The Dain rake I have is in same catagorie and made in the 20's to very early 30's, I have never seen an other one. Junk price is only about a hundred dollars a ton and that would make for less than $50 for either I think. I hat to see going to be cut up for scrap and heading to China, Too much history would be lost for that to happen. But they are going to have to go in next couple of months either way as the farm is being lost.

I contacted the local historical farm and they're looking into whether they can use them. They should be contacting you directly.

My email is still not working as I am not reciving what is supposed to be comming daily

(quoted from post at 18:31:00 11/12/18) Email should be working now.

'37 planter maybe would go good with my mostly original John Deere A. I'm in southern wisconsin and looking for a planter.
