I stole an idea from jack at Geiger farms to hold and organize my draw bar pins in a handy spot, easy to reach on the ground, no more digging through the tool box, dang I left the pin for the mower on the rake! etc. here's a couple of pics.

Good idea!

Even better to see someone that knows how to grind off the sharp edges / corners on their fabwork.........

I might have to try that . Thinking about welding a
piece of chain to the pin and then the chain to the
implement that way what ever tractor is there so will
be the pin

one thing for sure sv. the pins will be there when you go to hook up if you weld a chain to them.

Let?s see.

9 wagons.
2 planters.
1 Feed mill.
2 disks.
2 field cultivators.
1 corn sheller.
2 grain drills.
2 trailers.
2 balers.
2 sprayers.
5 augers and elevators.
3 hayracks.
1 side rake.
2 chisel plows.

Probably some old odds and ends around I?m not thinking of.

I?d need a lot of hitch pins and chain to put one on each implement!

Probably was better off not trying to think of all that, I have too much crap for a small farm.

Having a pin when you want to hook on priceless especially when you got equipment scattered fifty miles apart

Nice idea for pins. We drilled everything to take one size pin so we didn't need a bunch of pins and the Farmall draw bars
had plenty of holes for pins.

That?s not a bad idea either make it so everything took one pin then only have to keep a couple pins around drilling 1 1/8 holes in everything doesn?t really excite me though

Tongues on wagons and equipment aren't all that hard to drill and you drill them only once. Most equipment the hitch can be taken off and use the large drill press in shop and some don't need drilling.

(quoted from post at 03:02:32 10/29/18) Way too much rattling and noise going on there for me.
rick there is going to be a rubber flap between the bracket and fender on final assembly to deaden the sound and keep the paint on the fender.

I was thinking about it and if you welded a tube the length of your pins to the underside of each hole it would reduce the vibration and keep the pins from rubbing against the fender. Hopefully my description
makes sense.

I use a air die grinder with one of many bits I have for them to re-round holes and or make them the size I want MUCH easier than drilling with a big bit in a oblonged hole

Its taken 10 years of pin buying but everything has its own pin on our place now plus 2 spares on each tractor. Lost too much time over the years driving around looking for pins that got left somewhere.
