McCormick B45 Baler

Hi All.

Just been given a B45, all appears to be working, but have been told that it sometimes misses tying of one
side of the bale.
Does anyone know what adjustment I need to do to correct the issue.

Also, I been told that I require a different baling tyne, compared to the new type, this info would be great
as well.

Thanks in advance.

What I remember about the 45 baler from 60 plus years ago is the twine boxes were on the sides of the bale chamber/shoot was for a kid to ride on to tie the missed knots. Spent many hours there when the custom work doing neighbor was at our place.

The 45's had a bad reputation for tying. I have a 46 that ties OK so something must have changed. I would suggest buying a manual and finding 7600 sisal twine. 9000 sisal twine has become junk and is a problem to run in any older IH baler that can't use plastic.

You weren't given much.....LOL That baler is OLD,from the early 1950s. It's a dinosaur, museum piece. They had a poor reputation, especially for tying.Parts will be hard,if not impossible to find. The first thing to do is to order a book. read it several times, memorize it.Maybe the best use for it is to park it out front as 'yard art'.

Are you all sure you are talking about the same baler. The baler we know never had a B infront of the 45 that I know of and the way he is speaking I think he is in the land down under and not the USA so very likely it is not the baler uou are thinking of.

The left side tire will be a larger size than the right or pickup side of the baler because the left is where all the weight is

Thanks.

Understand now. So I yet to receive my manual I have ordered, so would someone have the overall diamension of the baler, ie, width and length, height not a problem.
