Rollover Plow question

I didn’t think it pulled any harder, but it’s sure is heavier to pickup for obvious reasons. I feel like we used a larger tractor to run because we needed more lift capacity and didn’t want to have to stack a rediculous amount of weight on a smaller machine.
 
I really don't think so. It seems like it because guys tend to plow deeper with rollovers,and the ground is usually wetter and tighter due to the irrigation. Plus they are heavier.
 
We had 2x16 IH slat bottom roll over plow we used in river bottom ground it pulled harder than a regular 3x14 pull type plow.
 
I?ve always wondered about that . Pull a 3x14 John Deere with the 3020 and I want to pull a 3x14 IH rollover I can pull the one way John Deere In 3 and 4th
 
Remember with the 14" bottom you should be turning over a slab of about 98 square inches verses with a 16" bottom it would be a slab of 128 square inches or 1.3 times as much soil so with just the weight of a third more soil it should pull that much harder. Recomended plowing depth with a 14" bottom is 7", 16" is 8", so 14" wide x 7" high slab is 98 sq in, 16" x 8" is 128 sq in. 128 is 1.3 times 98 so very close to that 1 and a third times as much soil so should pull harder and that is figured with the same model bottom., one make to a different could vary quite a bit on how hard either one would pull against the other like JD to IHC. I don't know if compairable bottom a JD would pull easier than the IHC or the other way around. Just the math says a 16" should pull harder than a 14" bottom due to turning over more soil.
 
Thanks for the information Leroy . After pulling the 3 - 14 John Deere and now the 2-14 ih with the same tractor in the same soil conditions I can say the red plow pulls just as hard at the same depth as the John Deere If not harder I am running 3rd gear pulling 2-14 ih bottoms 8 inches deep and 3rd gear pulling 3 -14 John Deere 8 inches deep
