PTO wood chippers

I have owned/used several wood chippers. The best one is Woodmax. 8 inches is getting close to its limits though. Feed is hydraulic, slow the feed rate down for the big stuff.

I sold BearCat products they made a great chipper I still have the pto one I bought for demo's,, if I was going to buy a new one I would for sure buy a power feed one,, a 8" one should take around 50 hp for max sized material,, mine will do 6" and it will make a 40 hp talk,, myself i will just rent a big power feed from the rental place if I have much chipping,, for 200 bucks I can wear theirs out lol

I also forgot to mention that I have over 30 acres that I need to chip/ cut. These trees aren’t straight. Yesterday when cutting I found a tree the took a 90 to the right and then to the left. I have tractors ranging from 28 HP to 72 HP. I would like something that can run off our gas Ford 3000 (tractor is smaller and wouldn’t want to use the 8n), but if need be, run a chipper on our Ford 6610. The chipper wouldn’t have manual feed.

I was able to narrow it down to three machines. Anyone have the good or bad on these machines?

I have the:
http://www.woodmaxx.com/TM_86H_PTO_Wood_Chipper_p/tm-86h.htm

Bought second hand when it was a year old.
Made my 1957 JD420S bark on some chunks.
I does not like to be fed green leafy twigs to much to fast or the discharge chute plugs up.

The hyd. pump is driven off the end of the flywheel/cutter shaft.
The shaft keyway connecting the two gave out. Right now it is secured and has been working a few hours after I put a new key in it embedded in JB weld. When that fails, I will have to do some re-engineering.

All of the ones your looking at are really what someone thinks is a better Wallenstein chipper.
You might want to look those over also.

I was looking into the Wallenstein chipper but they were smaller (opening where the tree goes into the roller) and also a lot more money. So we went for the Woodland Mills 8 inch chipper. I wanted to get the Woodmaxx 8 inch chipper because of the heavier flywheel (was about 60 pound difference). The feed rate was the same on both of them. We'll probably be using the 6610 on the chipper and the 3000 as a backup (we adjusted the clutch and the pto works for now).
