we are looking a buying a rock rake or picker to clear hay ground --can you all offer some help as to brands and which is better rake or picker and what does a good used one run thanks

That is a very tough question because there are so many different types of both and a big range in size. A lot of people seem to think that the rakes that attach to a loader in place of the bucket work well and give you good bang for your buck. Bradco is one manufacturer of that type.

More regional terminology? To me, a rock rake is for making "windrows" of rocks so you don't have to run the picker over the whole
field. (s-l-o-w job) What you are describing is what I'd call a rock bucket.

My cousin has a Rite-Way picker for sale, if you're interested. North-west WI.
