New Holland/sperry 516 manure spreader

I am searching for an answer on to how to remove the drive sprocket from the apron drive shaft of my NH 516 manure spreader. The sprocket is a 12 tooth and is in the final drive area. It has no visible set screw or keyway with key stock installed. There is a small notch that is 1/4" wide by 1/8" tall cut in the outside of the sprocket hub but no cut in the shaft and no notches or cuts can be found on the back side of the gear. The outer part of the hub of the gear is lobe shaped and I suspect it may be locked like a lock ring for a bearing, however there appears to be no purpose built area to hammer against to rotate the gear. I have tapped on it in the opposite direction of its normal direction of travel but do not want to get to hard with it as the only place to hammer on it is on the cogs. Has anyone seen this type of gear and/or know for sure how to remove them? If you need any additional info to assist please let me know.....Thanks

Figured it out. That actually is a key way for a half moon key. A little heat and I was able to drive the sprocket away from the end of the shaft shown in the picture. Problem is, behind it is a bushing housing and the gear for the apron chain which also has a half moon key but slides off its half moon key towards the bushing housing and this gear. I moved this sprocket over until the bearing housing was touching this gear as well as the apron sprocket so not sure where to go from that. Without a key way cut all the way through on either sprocket I do not know how they installed them or intended to be removed. With the bearing housing in the middle you cannot slide either sprocket back far enough to remove the half moon key......

UPDATE--The key way actually do go all the way through the shaft but there so small on the gear side that you really have to look to see them..a little heat they will come off if they are stuck and not to badly rusted.

Another question should anyone have seen this. In regards to the two bearing supports for the apron drive shaft used on the various models of NH manure spreaders, has anyone ever retrofitted them with an actual bearing? The ones I removed are in fairly decent shape but the shaft has worn about .050". The supports have no bushing inserts and have very little clearance in regards to being able to install one for that matter, they are basically just a cast iron mount against a steel shaft.
