Question on PTO driven pump for a loader

When using this type pump for a loader, is it possible to get a longer shaft or extension so I can still use the PTO and the lift together? What would it take to put this pump on the front and drive it off the crank?

I think You could use a shaft out the back to run a implement. I don't think you would want to run anything that took a lot of power or it might damage the pump. As far as running the pump on the front of your tractor, it is meant to run at 540 RPMS. Your engine would run quite a bit faster than that. You could probably do it if you ran a shaft off the front of the engine to a gear and reduced the speed appropriately for the pump. Might be simpiler just to get a pump made to drive off of the front.

They make a 12" PTO shaft extension. Looks like you could put it on, then slide the pump on it. For an engine mounted pump, you'd want something designed for 1000-1800 rpm, not 250-540.

I run a long shaft like the one pictured
through my PTO pump I have a hitch
extension so it is the correct distance
when you hook an implement PTO shaft up I
believe my extension and my PTO extension
are 15" my loader has 3 hookups 2 are used
when I have my hay spear on and I have
routed the third out the back for
implements it seems to work good pulling
the sickle mower have not had a load on it
though

If that is a Ford, It is likely a pump and brackets would be available to mount on the front of the engine. Your current pto pump will not go engine speed and live.
