I love my 124. Threads the same; through the ceramic eyes at the bottom of the twine box ,then through the ceramic eye in front of the needle, up and through the needle and down to the frame. The one thing that surprised me is how much tension they want you to keep on the clamp right out of the twine box. I don't have my book in the house, but it's like 15# of pull. Check the twine clamp bar for grooves worn in it and get a replacement if need be. They call it a "bowtie" knotter.

I had a JD before my MF. They thread the same. My MF will push out one bale on top of another where my JD would break the shear bolt.

Probably.Pull the twine from the ball, through the tentioner plates, througfh the guids, the needle eyes and finally tie the loose end to the bale chamber cross member. There should be a chart/diagram on the inside of the twine box. You also need to buy a book.

For sure on getting a book. Things got a very different knotter than I am used to. Been looking at them on you tube and they seem to be a hay eating machine.
