Looking for what I think they call a "hat" that sits on the inside and outside mower blade. Anyone know where I can get a couple of these?

What are you going to use for 'ribs' on the side of the top hats?

The ones on the cutter now do not have any ribs, they are just round. I see the ones in the picture with the angle iron on the outside, is this what you are talking about? I would see this helping force the cut hay into the center of the mower, and not falling to the outside.

Google Fort F25-7 and 2-3 pictures come up of the mower with the curtain lifted. The ones they show are all metal, shorter and very similar to what is on a New holland, Kuhn etc. The local Long dealer was also a Vicon dealer and told me 12 years ago that they never sold any Long disc mowers. It would be nice to find some in the back room of an old Long dealer, but I would not know where to start searching.

The dealer here told me the same thing, that he had only sold 1 or 2 the whole time they had them. I'm going to make something out of a 12" pvc pipe, might be a hair too wide, but we'll see how it works.....

I have a Long 2084, which is a couple of discs shorter. These mowers were made by Fort. I think mine is a F25-5, or something like that. Have not had to by the 'hats', but I think Fort is still making mowers.

The hats on my 2084 are molded plastic, but if you Google Fort mowers they show metal ones welded on the disc.

Yes, these are molded plastic or fiberglass. Have not been able to find any under any name of mower. If you have a link I would appreciate it. Getty ready to "fabricate" something
