I just picked up a New Idea 252 Sickle bar the trailer type. It appears to be recently painted and looks like it's in great shape and ready to go except for the tires. They are not the same size and one will not hold air. I would like to replace these before I start mowing with it. I picked up a manual for this thinking it would be in there but all they give are the specifics on the wheels. I have searched the internet and can't find anything on tire size for NI sickle bars. I have 14" wheels and one has a 9.5 tire on it, the other is a smaller car tire. I'm guessing on a sickle bar it is not as important to have the right size and run the right air pressure as a rotary mower but if i'm going to buy new tires I would like to get the correct original size.

Does anyone know what the correct size should be? Or what sizes are you running on a similar sickle? My manual shows that 15" was also an option so if anyone has a similar mower but with the 15" wheels what size are you running?

Any help is greatly appreciated, below is the only picture of the mower that I have currently.

There is a reason for that. dad always ran a bigger tire next to the bar. It allowed the sickle bar to raise higher in heavy hay. Did not hurt a thing. I took the 14" off my AC and did the same thing with 235-75X15 next to the bar.
