Hey all I got half a field down this afternoon after work when this spring broke on my mower bar, I know its International but not what model number, anyone know what model it is/ if I can get this part? Can I just fab something up with a long bolt or whatever I can find to get the rest of the field cut or does it need to be a spring? I have a parts mower but the same spring is broken on it in the same place of course...

Any help would be appreciated perfect hay making weather here for the next few days it would be great to not be making mulch hay in this weather.

Weld a chain link to the last 2 coils.

I have done that to a few over the years.

If you can find the same spring great.. otherwise rig up something! When you're not cutting.. don't travel with the bar down.. Puts too much pressure on that spring with all the bouncing around... Here's a pic of mine :D

Thanks for the help guys, on the hunt for a manual and a replacement Spring.

New belt blade and some guards are in order for replacing, meanwhile the thing cuts great actually, it mowed five acres without a hitch a few weeks ago. I only got it last winter so not a lot of time with it... also that feild grows great hay that photo is right after the snow melted and in the place where I park everything hence the dead grass etc.....

The outer dozen guards are badly worn, Replacing them will allow to yto mow a little faster and more less plugging.

The part number of the spring is M 22110. I doubt CaseIH carries it anymore but you might be able to get generic spring of the same dimensions to use in its place.
And might I also add that you have a very nice and complete looking mower. I am jealous and wished mine was in the condition yours is.

Maybe a quick temporary fix would be, to back off on the tension bolt and heat and bend a hook into the end of the old spring. Might work for you.

I'm pretty sure you have a model 27-VA mower. I don't have a parts book for that model, but do have one on a model 25-V [older model, but is similar]
The spring part number for a 25-V is: M22110
