Wanting to clip back a newly seeded red clover catch to prevent snow load damage. Looking at a used 8' MX6 which is in good shape. Meed at least 8' to clear tractor tires. What's the good/bad opinions of this mower. Have a 6' Bush Hog that won't clear the tires and the discharge will windrow and don't want that.

We ran an MX8 for years mowing roadsides with very few problems. Main one was we had to put new seals in a gearbox. Mower did a nice job. Last summer replaced it with a Woods DS96, which is the same setup. The Woods cost less and does a better job. After owning both, I would choose the Woods.

The MX6 is a 6-foot mower. To get 8-foot you need a MX8.
