I'm looking for a 90 degree gearbox which has 540 PTO input, and about 700-1000 rpm output. Needs to handle only 10-15 hp.

Got any suggestions of a machine I could find in a boneyard which would have such a gearbox.

Thx,

Sounds like just a simple rotary cutter right angle gearbox would work, get the blade hub with the box and you can weld the pulley to the hub for easy mounting, hp rating might be a little higher than you are looking for at 40hp but at $170 delivered price it is pretty reasonable. If you pm me I can send you dimensional drawings of the box for you to review to see if it will work for you!

Looks like you will need either a 1:1.47 ratio box to give you 793rpm output at 540 rpm input speed or a 1:1.93 ration to give you a 1042 output at 540rpm input. What shaft configuration and mounting are you looking for?

540 PTO shaft input.
Output can be anything I can put a double sheave vee-belt pulley on.

Mounting lugs, or tapped holes to fit whatever mounting frame I need to construct.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see bush-hog type mowers may have what you want.

Check out surpluscenter.com. They usually have a wide selection.

The gearbox from a New Holland or Vermeer roll baler might work. You flipped the gearbox for 1000 rpm tractors I think.

NI 456 baler- flip between 540 and 1000. Made by McKee, out of Canada?
