Friend has this Heston round baler with electric tie but the switch box does not work as it should. When he got it the wiring was a mess and we tied to fix it but did not work as it should I know I baled hay with it and having to hot wire it to make it tie was a real big pain in the back sides. So doe any body have the diagram they can sned me so I can wire this thing up.
Thanks

Wish I knew but it is 15 miles from me. I know it is a simple DC motor so the wiring can not be all that hard

Old,
The only Hesstons that I know anything about are the 5530 and 530 models. Their smallest models (make a 39x54) roll.

I have wired up some for electric actuator type threader. All manually controlled, no memory, auto-learn or what ever else it is called.

Hesston and me both use a DPDT-center off-momentary switch. I have gotten them at electrical supply houses etc. The actuator motors on the ones I mess with are permanent magnet, so if you reverse the positive and negative leads, the motor will reverse. I am sure you know this.

I hook the hot and neg. to the two center poles. run a jumper from each corner, diagonally across switch, to the other corner. Then run the motor leads from the corners you just jumpered to. Motor will run in opposite directions as switch is made in either direction.

Will try to draw a diagram and post if I can.

This is what works for this model baler. Just to run twine tube back and forth and stop it anywhere you want. No limit switches or anything.

I hope this made sense.

This one does have a switch that is double pole double throw. Been to many years since I did much with electrical stuff to remember how to do it. I learned to hate electronics.
I think I see what your saying but it sure would help to have a diagram those I can still read and understand.
Thanks
By the way this box has to many wires so that in it self makes it harder to fire out

Old,
I drew a diagram and will try to attach it.

Thanks makes sense now. I was a Navy E.T. but never worked with motors all that much and was having a hard time picturing it in my mind. Just goes to show you that if you do not use what you know you can loose what you once knew

Thanks again. Probably will start from scratch and go with all new wires just so I know what is what. This thing has 4 wires coming out to the battery and a number of others in the box that go no where so was hard to see in my mind
Thanks

Hey old, don't get upset. You gotta remember- if it has 12 V. or more, or three wires or more, that's I.C. territory- more than an E.M. or E.T. can handle at once. Yer jest asking the wrong folks...
