I bought an old KUHN hay tedder(fluffer) at a sale. Mocel GRS21. Can't find a check plug or fill plug on gearbox. It says to use "Shell Retinax A" which seems to be a grease instead of oil. Anyone have experience or operator's manuel for one of these?

Have a GF22N (3 pt two rotor)

The center gear box has no lube point.

The gears in ours went out, when we had it apart a friend added a threaded filler pipe so we can keep putting grease in it (won't hold oil!)

I have a similar one. Last June the input shaft bearing failed so I opened it up for the first time. There was grease in there, and I don't think that any of it ever reached that front bearing due to the angle that it works at. Fortunately I had a parts unit and just swapped it out, shaft, housing cover, and all. I cleaned it up good first then filled it with gear oil.

Email Kuhn and ask for an operators manual.

If it works like my Kuhn rake, there's just a grease zerk on every arm. I would really call it a gear box, just a cam set up to tip the arms when they get to the right position.
