I finally got a chance to do another cutting. I had installed a pressure gauge on the gate closure pressure line, the same one you said would change as the bale formed.

Well everything went just as you said it would. After I realized that I was trying to fill a 5' baler with a tractor with 4' inner tire spacing, as I said I needed to do I stomped on the ww's today. the mechanical bale indicators worked as designed, the pressure on the gauge went from about 900 or so with/when the gate closed (no latch like others) to somewhere between the 2k and 3k marks on the gauge as the bale formed, just as you said it would and you could lay a straight edge across the top of the bale; nice and tight, no navel hernias as I initially mentioned.

Thank you sir very much. Not only am I happy with my new old baler, but you saved me a lot of moolah and trouble.

Mark
