Hey all,
Another Knight 716 followed me home today. I started out with a 712 (about 275 bushelish heaped). My fields are down a long, rough field road, so I bought a 912 (about 190 BU heaped) as a second spreader and hauled with both. After finding a 716 last winter, I sold the 912 and ran with the 716 and the 712. When I spotted this one on craigslist last week, I put up the 712 for sale and sold it. These two 716s should last me 100 years considering I use them for 30 loads for two days twice a year and park them inside when not in use.
I really like these spreaders for taking out my poultry manure. They aren't worth a ding for bedpack, so they sell fairly cheap around here. They're also fairly common because they were very good for gutter manure and they're built in Brodhead WI, about an hour and a half east of here.. This one is a scosh less than 400 bushel heaped and cost me $1500. I bought my first one from a dealer for $1500 as well.
One will go on my 4430, which should handle it well enough. The other will have to go on my 4010, and I'm a little concerned. The 4010 has a 4430 engine in it, but it's still lighter than the 4430.
