What bucket for JD 650/750

I"m about to inherit a JD from my Grandparents. No one in the family right now can remember if its a 650 or 750. It has a 3-point brush hog and finish mower but I will want to add a bucket. Who makes buckets for it? I"ve searched Ebay and craigslist but I"m having trouble finding one. Links to implement websites? Good ones? Bad ones?

Thanks for the pointers guys. I do not have the valves, but most of the loaders I see for sale around here have them included.

Your 650/750 does not have the best hydraulics for a loader. It may not even have external hydraulics on it. It was an optional kit on the 650/750. I don't just mean the SCV valve. It could not even have a way to plumb the loader in with an external valve. It was a separate block.

The JD loader for a JD 650 was a JD 60. It had a rated lift capacity of 600 lbs.

The JD loader for a JD 750 is a JD 70. Its lift capacity is 750 lbs.

I don't know what you are wanting to lift/move but a JD 650/750 with a loader is not really good if you want to do much work with it. Just a little stuff now and then they are fine. Also many of them do not have power steering. It was an option on them and many did not have it.

Good things to know. I only have an acre, and the bucket would be used to occasionally relocate the gravel in my driveway from the bottom to the top after rains, move some very small things, and I might use it to pull the sod up for a stone patio I want to lay. In the winter it might be used to move snow if I encounter depths that my snowblower won't do. Otherwise the tractor will be used for dragging small trees I need to cut, brush hogging the back of the property, and I'm sure I'll suddenly have a few hundred friends who need to borrow it :) I sometimes use buckets as engine hoists, car pushers, and pallet lifts, but I can't imagine needing more than 600 lbs.

This particular model is 4wd and no power steering, but the steering is incredibly light. I don't notice a difference with 200 lbs of suitcase weights on the front.

I don't know about the hydraulics, I'll have to check. The only thing I'm sure of (since its been about 10 years since I've seen it) is that it has a 3-point brush hog, a 3-point finish mower, suitcase weights, and ROPS.

Truth be told, this tractor is probably larger than I need, but I do need more than a 3- or 4- series. 90% of the time it will be used for very light duties, and occasionally I'll use it to its full potential, but I can't imagine needing more. I borrowed my Dad's MF 35 to brush-hog this year and it was WAY more than I needed.

Curtis: are you sure it does not have power steering??? Most times if they had 4wd they had power steering. They did not steer easy without power steering they where kind of hard steering. The power steering just made them manageable. With any kind of loader on the front you are going to want power steering.

Like you said you may be better off to trade it for a tractor that already has a loader and power steering on it.

Also where are you located?? Compact tractors differ in value greatly area to area.
