I have just been "handed down" a 1954 TO-30. It has a belly mounted sickle bar mower on it that was wrapped around a rock and the cast iron body now has a nasty crack in it. Does anyone know where I could start with finding a new one of these? Also, if I got a good welder to button it up for me does the collective experience in this group think it is possible to weld it and have it hold? This unit has hydraulics that raise the arm as well as the body of the unit. It looks to be original to the machine.

As often as not the castings on things like that were cast steel and not cast iron and so would weld up well by any competent welder.
